fireplace. Outside, the venue's pond and treehouse, as well as its proximity to the garden, greenhouse and chicken coop offer a lot to do, even during the unstructured hours of the day. e Ponds Chalet, meanwhile, caters to a more private customer—located near the entrance of the red rock canyon, but still by the pond and right next to a gurgling creek. e sound of trickling water puts even the lightest sleeper to bed in a blink. A six-person hot tub waits on the deck for either entertaining or a romantic night under the stars. As its name implies, the Panorama Chalet offers sweeping views of the Big Horn, Bridgers, Owl Creek and Absaroka ranges. When it comes to mealtimes, sojourners won't have to rough it or alter their diets while at Red Reflet Ranch. In fact, not even the fanciest "farm-to-table" restaurants can compete with a place that serves ingredients farmed mere feet away from the dining hall. Produce comes from the ranch's greenhouse and gardens while the beef gets raised on the property. e chicken and eggs? From the coop. With elk herds numbering over 300 consistently migrating across the Ranch, along with a myriad of other nearby wild game, any other fresh meats come from ranchlands. While breakfast and lunch oen vary depending on the day's activity, e Red Reflet Ranch's traditional 7 p.m. dinner unites everyone in a good-old-fashioned, time-slowing, family affair. Even the Kaplans join the fray at mealtime, giving guests a feeling that they've been welcomed into a home, rather than a hotel. With cuisine prepared by culinary experts and pastry chefs, each meal receives the dutiful care and preparation to wow the pickiest eaters. e foodies of the group can work directly with the chefs in the aernoon to help prepare exquisite dinners and take home some Western-inspired recipes to impress their friends. e ranch also caters for private dinners in the Chalets or for outdoor barbeques in the evening. Quintessentially Western, yet focused on leisure backed by state-of-the-art amenities, the Red Reflet Ranch, as they term themselves, is a "guest ranch vacation for the senses." No matter the sense—the views of the mountains, lakes and stars; the smell of the pines when hiking in protected wilderness; the taste of farm-raised beef and produce; the sound of the stream outside the cabin; the feeling of slipping into a warm hot tub aer a full day; the thrill of flying, riding, or fishing— the ranch offers a chance to live them all. So when you feel the pull to come out West, to try your hand at some old- fashioned cowboy culture, don't hesitate to answer the call. V U E N J . C O M 129
