is custom home was designed at the cli-
ent's request for a small living space resem-
bling a hideaway or treehouse. e end result,
through the ingenious architectural engineer-
ing of Malan Vorster, is a pinwheel-shaped
three-level structure immersed in the opu-
lent forests of Cape Town. e first level is
the living area where residents can relax on
the oversized sectional sofa or step out onto
the covered patio to dine at a small bistro ta-
ble. e second level contains the bedroom,
just large enough for a comfortable mattress
atop a solid wood frame overlooking the sce-
nic forest below. e third and final level is
a panoramic rooop deck with customized,
built-in seating. To enter this rustic abode,
residents must use a suspension bridge com-
prised of wood and steel.
