Besides being incredibly talented, her career and rise to prominence will always be tethered to strong family values and holiday spirit. ough she'd practiced dance since the age of two, it wasn't until a family outing in New York City to see "e Nutcracker" that she'd finally fully set her sights on ballet. Today, Peck performs as the title's Sugar Plum Fairy and looks to encourage the next generation of ballerinas who might aspire to the same stage. Christmas in the New York metropolitan area—for better or worse— always inspires a bit of magic. When thinking of Peck's story (and career), it seems fitting to weave those small elements of holiday magic throughout the issue, albeit with a little subtly. Our second story with world-renowned luxury trip curator, Niquesa Travel, is the most obvious of these. Here, we explore the brand's signature journey to Finnish Lapland where families can spend time in a real-life holiday story of their own making. Holiday magic, though, isn't only about sleds and evergreens, and this issue's contents reflect that idea. Of course, we're back with our third Luxury Gi Guide, curated carefully by our in-house team. But we also delve into the details of luxury that champion those magical holiday moments. For one, we present fashion trends from both omas Farthing and Azzi & Osta that, while not specifically designed for a holiday, evoke the warmth and elegance that comes with the year's final quarter. Later in the issue, we catch up with James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, Joanne Chang. Finally, I bounce around Austria for a few days going in and out of the country's most iconic palaces and castles. e point is, a holiday comes in many shapes and sizes—and it's up to us to decide what size fits us. I'd also like to send a big thank you to Ken Browar and Deborah Ory of NYC Dance Project for their stunning photography work. Happy Holidays! FROM THE EDITOR V U E N J . C O M 30
