To build his intricate timepieces, Ferrer sources supplies from all over the world, including manufacturers and engineers that can tweak his designs for quality control. Brew Watch Co. began with one design per year and now aer five, the brand produces two to three designs annually—thanks to Ferrer's drive and dedication in all aspects of the company. "I was doing everything from design and engineering, to sourcing samples and supplies. But I was also doing the PR, photography, the website creation—and so on. at's where it's really exciting for me, and it all sort of snowballed." Growing up in Woodbridge, NJ, Ferrer's passion is also one that ultimately may be passed down from generation to generation. His father, currently a jeweler and designer for Tiffany & Co., and grandfather, formerly a designer for Cartier, undoubtedly had some impact on his creativity. "When I was a kid, my father always told me to never get into this industry because it's especially labor in- tensive. So he sent me to NJIT so I could 'use my mind, not my hands.' But I just fell into the same groove," he laughed. "ere really was no escape." V U E N J . C O M 40
