hile there's no shortage of red carpet accomplishments from the Oscars to the Emmy Awards, one of the house's biggest and most special achievements included designing the $2.5 million Victoria's Secret Fantasy Treasure Bra that was worn by model Miranda Kerr back in 2011, in collaboration with London Jewelers. Aer receiving the sketch, Norman Silverman's process included hand-placing 10,000 stones—3,400 pearls, 142 carats of diamonds, along with citrines, aquamarines and a tassel centerpiece made from two white diamonds coming in at over 8 carats and two yellow diamonds said to be more than 14 carats. "ey're not known in the same way that say, Tiffany or Cartier is," explained Gerber. "ey really let their pieces do the talking. ere's a real concentration on the quality of the diamond, the platinum and gold that they use." A key to Norman Silverman's success is allowing the diamonds themselves to inspire a piece's design, instead of the other way around. From over-the-top engagement rings and wedding bands to bangle bracelets and earring studs, there's no limit as to what Norman Silverman can (or will) create. Gerber, who's been working with Silverman for the past two years, praises the manufacturing of the jewelry house's multi- shape diamonds noting that they ensure each shape is the same weight, has the ideal dimensions and same quality—which is unique in comparison to competitors. Norman Silverman prides themselves on their meticulous attention to detail, and that extends to every aspect of the jewelry making process. Although their portfolio extends mainly to Hollywood royalty, a Norman Silverman piece is not out of reach. Retailers such as Devon Fine Jewelry make owning one of their diamonds actually more accessible than one may think. "ere was a woman who came into the store and wanted to redo her wedding band that was made 20 years ago," said Gerber. "So Norman Silverman actually mirrored the same image that she wanted, but with more important stones, better quality diamonds, better shapes. ey made it almost identical but gave it an upgrade." Norman Silverman's offerings also include more affordable fashion jewelry such as rings, pendants and earrings that still adhere to the company's standards. "A lot of people think that big pieces or big diamonds are better," Gerber added, "but the quality isn't always up to par. Norman Silverman is known for their high quality."
