Bridal Makeup Dos & Don'ts Expert beauty hacks for a flawless face on your wedding day. BY LAUREN D'AMELIO VENTRE Every bride has the right to feel beautiful on her big day and part of the planning process is finding the perfect makeup artist to help make that happen. Wondering where to begin? To help answer a few concerns many bride's may have, I'm sharing my wedding day beauty tips that'll prepare you for the time leading up, during and aer your wedding. GETTING YOUR SKIN WEDDING READY Pre-wedding beauty treatments While injectables can be a quick fix, they take a few weeks to settle. Instead, try laser treatments or facials. If you are thinking about getting Botox or filler, you should try them first at least six months before the wedding. is way if you don't like them or have an adverse reaction, you have time for them to fade or dissolve. I highly recommend Dr. Kaga of e Kaga Institute located in Marlboro, New Jersey. You are what you eat (and drink) Some skin issues are caused by what you put into your body. You may need to consult an allergist or nutritionist if you have skin issues that are not easily resolved by your dermatologist. For example, alcohol is a big no-no leading up to your wedding. It dehydrates the skin and can cause breakouts. Don't try anything new the week of your wedding One of my brides tried a new eye cream two nights before her wedding. Long story short, she had an allergic reaction and her eyes were swollen shut for her rehearsal dinner. ankfully the swelling went down for her big day, but the skin around her eyes was extremely chapped and red. Anything you want to try out, do it at least a few months prior to your wedding and stick with what works. V U E N J . C O M 49
