T he wedding ceremony took place on an outside upper deck of the hotel, jutting out over the cliffs and gorge waterfalls. Neff wanted to ensure that the ceremony florals would create the right ambience and sense of whimsy without overwhelming the couple or competing with the natural environment: "We wanted the floral flourishes to flank the couple and be a moment—but not be out of place in the natural surroundings. With outdoor weddings, if you bring in too much, then it competes; we wanted just the right amount of pretty to accentuate the woodland and waterfall." e next big floral moment of the wedding was the unforgettable al fresco seated dinner. e tables, set on tiered decks overlooking the mountains and waterfalls, were some of Neff 's favorite elements of the event. "We wanted the tables to feel romantic, full and alluring without being obtrusive to conversation or competing with the surroundings. Absolutely no one likes craning their neck around a floral arrangement, not even florists. We went with table runners bedecked with golden geometric accents, candles a-plenty for when the sun sets and pops of seasonal, locally-sourced flowers including garden roses, dahlias, delphinium and some wilder bits like Queen Anne's lace sourced from our test garden. In the floral world, greenery really has elevated itself from being just a filler to a feature, and this wedding was no exception. We sourced some crowd favorites like eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus, but added a Tuscan vibe with lemonleaf for a fresh feel and plumosa fern for those barely-there wisps," Neff explains. V U E N J .
