T raveling, no matter where you go, should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Yet, often, it demands preparation that can overwhelm you to the point of stress, and only stress. Consider an alternative: a method of traveling that allows you to essentially take your home on-the-go, where you can set off to your own destinations at your own time, indulge in luxurious comfort, and stop when you want to appreciate the place you're in. RVs could be just what you're looking for. Recreational vehicle (RV) traveling has not always had a luxurious connotation in the past. When you think of high-end traveling, you may first picture lavish jets and yachts. But now, high-end RV traveling is becoming a more accessible, practical, and desired way to travel. Elizabeth de Quillacq, expert traveler and founder of travel advising company Souvenir & Far, refers to RV travel as a new and unique way to go on vacation. It offers the best characteristics of its alternatives-- the ability to move destinations like a cruise, setting up a fire in the woods like a regular camping adventure, and bringing the sheets and towels that you want, unlike any hotel experience. More than that, RV traveling has additional pleasures to make taking time off that much more convenient. You could tow your car along with the RV, store some bikes to go cycling in different locations, or even set up a work-from- home area with all of the equipment you may need. And if you're looking for a more productive way to travel for business, an RV could offer all of that and more. But it's hard to plan all of this on your own— so, where do you start? We have some ideas. Picking The RV First and foremost, you have to pick the right RV. James Buck, owner of Premier Luxury RVs, shared some things to keep in mind: the amount of people residing in the vehicle, your typical lifestyle, storage needed, et cetera. You can even contemplate the option of hiring your own driver to make traveling that much more convenient. Once you have the answer to these questions, you will have a better idea of what vehicle will best fit your travel needs. Planning The TRiP To maximize the opportunities that your trip can offer, it's best to sit down and plan beforehand. If you're unsure of how to go about it, consider talking to an adviser such as de Quilliac. Like her, an adviser could help guide you through the details of it all: personal interests, goals for the trip, any possible complications, likes and dislikes, etc. "My favorite part is really getting into the nitty-gritty of what makes them happy, and finding those special little treasures along the way," said de Quilliac. "There are a lot of things on an RV trip to see that you wouldn't ever plan a regular vacation around. Your opportunity to see a lot more unique and off the beaten path types of activities or sights is just so much more when you go on these RV road trips." If you look to rent an RV for corporate and business trips, visualize how the RV can fit into making the experience that much more convenient.
