Guests can dine on locally inspired Ecuadorian cuisine from the comfort of the ship's dining room or in an al-fresco setting on the sundeck. Origin and Theory boh offer sustainable, plant-based vegetarian and gluten-free meals, catering to a variety of food preferences. On the sundeck, unwind on daybeds and chaise lounges or cool off in the outdoor shower after enjoying an al fresco lunch or smoky barbecue and drinks from the wet bar. There's also a Jacuzzi hot tub—perfect for sunny afternoons— and shaded areas for escaping the equatorial sun. The onboard experience is matched only by the incomparable beauty of the islands visited. SUSTAINABLE SAILING Sustainable features – such as reusable water bottles, ecological toilets, and an advanced water treatment plan that prevents untreated greywater or blackwater from being disposed into the ocean – work to reduce fossil fuel consumption by more than 30%. Traveling at a speed of 12-14 knots allows more time for exploration, while the curved bow of the vessels cuts through waves for smooth sailing and less drag, which reduces RPMs and ultimately demands less fuel. In addition to offering sustainable transportation and itineraries to the region, Ecoventura established the Galápagos Biodiversity & Education for Sustainability Fund to benefit research and projects related to biodiversity conservation and to support the education of Galapagueños through scholarships. The company is also a long-time ally of the Charles Darwin Foundation. Choosing to invest in the long-term health of the archipelago through sustainable tourism and their efforts to give back to the community have always been the ambition behind their mission. In 2022, Origin & Theory by Ecoventura will debut Evolve, the company's third luxury expedition vessel, offering travelers the most sustainable and fully upgraded fleet within the destination.
