W e hope everyone had a lovely holiday season as we look forward to creating new memories and moments in 2022. Looking ahead, many of us will try to shape the upcoming year by making New Year resolutions, but to me resolutions often fall short. Some are easily achieved without much planning and foresight– travel to a new place, spend more time with family and friends, eat healthier. Others are virtually impossible to achieve. For instance, a friend recently told me her resolution is to "stop eating sugar." I didn't want to burst her bubble, but it's not possible to cut sugar completely out of a diet. Sometimes creating unrealistic goals that can't be met just adds emotional stress, impacts mental health, and is counterproductive to creating a better you or a better year. Instead of resolutions, I prefer to use this time to set intentions that allow me to grow into new opportunities and challenges. After all, how can I know all I want to achieve this year on January 1st? We only need to look back two years to see how much things can change in a matter of weeks. And change can happen moment to moment. For example, every minute of the day we lose about 40,000 dead skin cells from the surface of our skin and new cells form. Our body constantly rejuvenates without us seeing it or even realizing it. With this in mind, we set out to find new ways to refresh and reset our bodies and souls in this, our annual "Rejuvenation Issue". We hope our articles inspire you to spend some time this year on you. We explore work and life balance with Melissa Gorga. Unless you've been living under a rock here in New Jersey, you should be familiar with this star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Through our interview with her, we were inspired by her energy and work ethic. How does she balance her private and (very) public life, while maintaining her amazing shape and fitness level? For those of you who are looking for new intentions, we showcase our top beauty picks for 2022 along with ways to help slow down the aging process. We also help you keep more of your hard-earned money in your pocket with top tax strategies and tips for the new year. To rejuvenate means to bring renewed life to something old. What will that be for you this year? Even if you have no answer, just think - in the time it took you to read this, you've probably lost over 200,000 skin cells! From our family to yours we wish everyone a healthy and happy new year and look forward to what is to come! A Note From the Co-Founder Brian Kovener Co-Founder Brian@vuenj.com V U E N J .C O M 16
