Nicole Oppelt is the owner of Dovetail Vintage Co. The company is a locally-owned
small business based out of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. The business
specializes in vintage and boutique rentals that can be used for weddings, parties,
and other events.
Nicole noticed a need in the market for a rental service that offered elevated
designs after having worked in the field of event planning for several years.
Most of the rental furniture she saw available on the market primarily focused
on classic bulky leather pieces that didn't seem to fit the wide range of styles
that clients had for their event themes.
Nicole's vision for the company is a mix of sustainability and an overall
vintage aesthetic. After purchasing the business, Nicole made sure the core
model reflected her own personal values. The repurposing and refurbishing
of authentic vintage material allows her to leave a lower carbon footprint on
the environment. As for the pieces themselves, styles can vary from the more
popular traditional farmhouse look to a chic European-esque aesthetic. Her
collection continues to grow with pieces such as white oak tables and top-of-
the-line bars. Nicole recently opened a showroom in Atlantic Highlands,
offering the clients the ability to see what a setup would look like on the day
of their event as opposed to vague vision from an assortment of individual
elements from just her website.
Moving forward, Nicole sees her business becoming more of a "one-stop
shop," expanding to include her planning skills. One thing she is admittedly
sure about is keeping the business local and keeping this gem for New Jersey
and surrounding area events.
