Rasmus Munk, the co-owner and chef, first
conceptualized the idea in 2015 when he opened a
fieen-seat version of Alchemist. In 2019, with the
assistance of Lars Seier Christensen, a Danish
businessman, entrepreneur, and investor, the
concept transformed into an immersive 52-seat
restaurant. Munk believes food is a medium for
shared experience and communication, and
Alchemist became a testament to that statement.
ese business partners have been redefining the
dining landscape by offering guests a unique
culinary style.
Alchemist is a distinctive restaurant, beginning
with its exterior. You are greeted by beautiful art
pieces with thirteen-foot-tall bronze doors created
by the Danish artist Maria Rubinke. e doors are
complemented with a gorgeous sculpted design
adorning the surface. Starting from the entrance,
the ambiance of the Alchemist is far from that of a
traditional restaurant. e perfect blend of a dark
and mysterious color palette wraps around the
establishment, and no natural light seeps in. e
ambiance is a testament to the creativity the
restaurant holds. e design is inspired to give the
impression of a place outside time and space.
