like Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and

Today, Lenz wines are "regarded as the maker of some of
the best varietal wines" in America, oen matching or
outshining their counterparts from France and California
in blind tastings. e secret lies in a relentless focus on
purity; each bottling is craed as a clear expression of its
grape. Under Peter and Deborah Carroll, who bought
the estate in 1988, that philosophy has only deepened.
