Brothers by birth, business partners by design. What started as
a shared frustration in their interior design practice led Peter
and Alexander Spalding to build Daniel House Club—a
platform that streamlines the most chaotic part of the industry:
procurement. Rooted in their father's legacy and driven by a
desire to make designers' lives easier, the brothers are redefining
what it means to work with family.
founding & inspiration
Q: What inspired you both to create Daniel House Club, and
how did your experiences with Daniel House Studios shape
the concept?
A: Daniel House Club really grew organically out of our interior
design practice. ere, we learned that one of the most profitable
areas of the business can be procurement, but it's a very difficult
thing to master. Working directly with vendors is challenging,
and it's tough to maintain accounts with enough of them to
make each project feel unique to your clients. It was when we
tracked 60 hours to the procurement of a single sofa–and this
story wasn't foreign to many of our other interior design friends
and colleagues–that we knew this was an area that desperately
needed improvement.
