MaryAnn Grasso founded Dance Workshop in 1979 on
Long Island with the mission to support, guide, and love
children. Dance has been the vehicle to do just that. With
decades of excellence in dance, MaryAnn and Nanci (her
daughter) joined forces, and established Dance Workshop
New York City on the Upper East Side in 2016. "I've said
this before and I will say it again. My daughter Nanci
personifies what Dance Workshop is all about. Who Nanci
is as a person is what contributes to the success of our
studios. Her passion, creativity, knowledge, and ability to
dream led us to open the New York City studio. She knew
Dance Workshop had a place in the most beloved skyline
and she was right!" exclaimed MaryAnn.
e Grassos have devoted their lives to dance education,
community, and the development of children. While
Dance Workshop is known for its robust children's
program, the studio has expanded into adult dance and
fitness. "We are seeing an increase in adult dancers across
all ages. From novice to former professional dancers, we
are enjoying this new population at our studio. Dancing
reinvigorates your soul! Who doesn't want to experience
that?" said MaryAnn Grasso.
