THE ORIGIN OF AMBITION
Q: What did ambition look like for you before
Le Closet—and how has that definition
evolved since becoming a founder?
A: Before owning a business, ambition felt
connected to a significant level of notoriety.
Today, I define the word differently. Ambition
has so much more to do with service, and
how to grow with our team, our business,
and our customer base.
Q: Was there a turning point in your life
that changed how you viewed success or
independence?
A: Like all new business owners, I struggled
significantly when I opened our flagship store
in Southampton. A major turning point was
my realization that independence doesn't
exist; rather, it's my dependence on our
community that creates our success. e
old adage is true: it takes a village.
Q: When people describe you as a
"businesswoman," what does that word mean
to you personally and do you embrace it, or
does it still feel new?
A: I am flattered! I feel lucky to be a woman
in business, and embrace the term without
hesitation. Personally, it feels exciting and
limitless.
