Andrew Lacy was a busy entrepreneur, poised to kick off his fourth company, when stress and exhaustion began to take its toll. Concerned that there was something going seriously wrong underneath the surface, he found a radiologist who would run a full-body scan. "I learned that I was in generally good health," Andrew recalls, "and I got this tremendous sense of peace of mind and serenity." Buoyed by his own good news, Andrew realized how "most people have no idea what's going on inside" and determined to "take what this gentleman in Vancouver was doing and bring it to the rest of the world." Soon aer, Prenuvo was born. A Prenuvo scan differs from a traditional MRI in a myriad of ways. To begin with, a typical Prenuvo scan takes around 45 minutes to complete, a drastic reduction from the traditional hour-and-a-half MRI scan. ere's also a difference in machinery and technology. "e MRI machines we use are custom-built, research-grade MRI," says Andrew. "We're updating them every month, doing the best imaging we can, having the highest quality images in an acceptable amount of time for the patient." While the thought of a traditional MRI can trigger anxiety in some patients due to the confined space and sterile environment, Prenuvo has gone to great lengths to disrupt any sense of medically induced dread. Andrew explains that "the outcome is a concierge experience, but the objective is 'how do we put people at ease?'" For Prenuvo, that means using open bore machines that are roomier inside, where someone can watch television or listen to music. It also means you won't find any white walls or coats during a Prenuvo scan. "We use our own clinics," Andrew shares.
