Without a strong, organized plan through all four seasons, erosion wins. is spring, use that seasonal reset to focus on three powerful moves: declutter your plan, polish your protection, and upgrade your cash flow. DECLUTTER YOUR PLAN Most people carry clutter in their financial lives: multiple accounts, overlapping products, old decisions that no longer fit, and line items on the paycheck stub no one can clearly explain. One of the simplest but most revealing exercises is to sit down with your latest pay stub and your completed tax return and walk through them line by line. You see, in black and white, exactly what came in, what went out, and how much was actually captured for your future. If you don't know what's coming out of your paycheck, how can you know whether it's working for you? Is that line item an expense or an asset? Is it a cost or a savings vehicle? Is it maximized— or just something that got set up years ago and never revisited? Spring cleaning your plan means consolidating where it makes sense, eliminating dead weight, and replacing "mystery" deductions with intentional, purposeful strategies. e goal isn't complexity; it's clarity. POLISH YOUR PROTECTION In the garden, you have to constantly pull weeds, protect what you've planted, and distinguish between what's truly a flower and what's a weed posing as one. In wealth management, protection is that ongoing gardening work. Your money is under attack— from lawsuits, unexpected health events, disability, premature death, tax law changes, and economic surprises you didn't see coming. Polishing your protection means reviewing your insurance, legal structures, and entity design with fresh eyes. Are your coverages aligned with the life you're living now, not the one you had ten or fieen years ago? Are beneficiaries current? Does your corporate structure and asset protection strategy still fit the business you own today—not the version you started? Strong, efficient protection doesn't just defend what you've built; it allows you to live more confidently, knowing your "crops" are shielded while they grow. UPGRADE YOUR CASH FLOW Finally, spring is a perfect time to upgrade your cash flow. ink of it as weeding your income and expenses so more nutrients reach your long-term goals. Your tax return and paycheck stub, together, show you the real cash- flow story: how much is going to taxes, how much is being saved, and how much is silently absorbed by lifestyle and obligations that may no longer reflect your priorities. I've always looked at wealth management as a formula. Everyone has a unique formula based on their career, business model, corporate structure, and family goals—but the core principle is the same: maximum savings rate plus maximum protection equals your full financial potential. When you increase your savings rate in a coordinated way and surround it with the right protection, you create a more efficient plan that can weather winters and fully benefit from springs. But that formula only works if you keep measuring the results and adjusting, instead of letting erosion quietly chip away at your progress. Spring will come and go whether you act or not. e difference is whether you use this season to clear the clutter, strengthen your defenses, and redesign your formula so more of your money ends up working for you and your family.
