Mike: Hmmm mmm. Lauren: I think we had a lot to fight for and we wanted to preserve that relationship we had, pre-all of the craziness from the world. And the goal was always to get back there, but I feel like we surpassed it in the next level by getting through so many different hardships together. Mike: Yea, I remember when I became a multi- millionaire early on in my career. Everyone thought I had everything but I was missing one thing and that was the love of my life. She's the one that completes me. And I fooled around because we had met in college in math class, right? But I think we have the total package with history and also chemistry. Make it all work. VUE: You guys have been very open about your growth, second chances, and rebuilding. What specific moment really clicked for you where it stopped being about surviving and started being more about purpose? Lauren: I think it kind of grew like a seed, you know what I mean? I think that when you started to get sober, it was more of a you-focused thing, for your purpose. Mike: Yeah, we stayed on that track. Lauren: When you started to get sober, you stayed focused and everything started attracting to him and to us. Personally and professionally as he continued to do the next right thing. And early in his recovery, we didn't have much. We just had each other back then and he just kept doing the next right thing and then, the reboot came. And then the next right thing and then other opportunities came. And so many things just kept building on each other as he stacked the years and now, to be 10+ years out where we are with the treatment centers, it's really incredible. Mike: I think things really started to go, I don't want to say exponentially in the right direction, but almost like when I wrote the book, and people really saw the story behind "e Situations", behind what really happened. When we revealed to the world our comeback story, that's when things really started to like, [whooshing sound]. I never expected to sell over a million dollars of my life story, or it was really our life story, right? It was our love story and we did that within about a year and a half which was really special for us and then we were like, 'whoa we're on to something here.'
