BY J U L I A N S T E R L I N G New Jersey's nightlife community reunited in an unforgettable way for "King of Clubs," a heartfelt celebration honoring the life, legacy, and lasting influence of Kosta Rexinis, the visionary behind legendary venues Club Abyss and Deko Lounge. Held on May 5, 2026 at e Bar, the all-day celebration marked one year since Kosta's passing and paid tribute to the man who helped define New Jersey nightlife for more than two decades. Kosta Rexinis passed away on May 5, 2025. One year later, the Rexinis family honored the man who brought so many people together by hosting the event in Sayreville, the very place where Kosta's career first began. e celebration took place at e Bar, once owned by Kosta–alongside his brother Demetri Rexinis and partners Anthony Cardinale and Joseph Pasiano–making the tribute even more meaningful for longtime friends, family, and supporters. Founded by Kosta and Demetri in 1992, Club Abyss quickly became one of the most iconic nightlife destinations in the tri-state area, later followed by Deko Lounge in 2000. Together, the venues became known for their electric energy, celebrity appearances, legendary DJ sets, and loyal community that spanned generations. e "Kosta King of Clubs" event drew more than 1,500 attendees throughout the day and night, bringing together many of the DJs and personalities who helped shape the decades-long legacy of Abyss and Deko. e lineup featured major names including Funkmaster Flex, Cipha Sounds, Victor Calderone, Harry Romero, Benny Soto, alongside New Jersey nightlife favorites Richie Santana, Denny Tsettos, Manny "e Greek," Unique, Klutch, Dean K, and many more. Guests enjoyed nostalgic music inspired by the Club Abyss and Deko eras, along with food trucks, valet parking, an indoor-outdoor setup, and an atmosphere filled with stories, memories, and appreciation for a man who helped launch countless careers and lifelong friendships. More than just a reunion, the event served as a celebration of life and fundraiser for the Kosta Rexinis Scholarship Foundation, ensuring Kosta's legacy continues to inspire future generations. For so many in attendance, "King of Clubs" was more than an event; it was a reminder of the golden era of New Jersey nightlife and the incredible community Kosta Rexinis built through music, hospitality, and connection. 34 VUENJ.COM
