Options abound when it comes to Carly's creations. Banding designs can be anything from "very vintage floral patterns" to nautical stripes, and style choices range from cowboy to boater hats. Clients are offered the option of engraving their hat with a special date, initials, a quote, etc. and the sky is the limit when it comes to the details on a custom hat order. Once the initial consultation has ended, Carly gets to work. e second part of the 3-part process on a custom order is a fitting to ensure the customer's pleasure. If the hat requires any adjustments, then "the third part is making those adjustments/alterations. I've come to realize that people really appreciate that; they want that time and attention," she states. "I just love making people happy and adding a special touch to their wardrobe," says Carly. Sure to add a special touch to any wardrobe, Carly's Fall/Winter collection is her interpretation of the modern Western hat. Aptly titled "Western Romance," the collection is "inspired by vintage ranch culture, old Americana, and classic cowboy silhouettes." Reimagined through a soer, more fashion-forward lens, Carly describes the new line as having "timeless cowboy influence mixed with modern femininity, luxury textures, and handcraed features." Just like her previous collections, the hats offered in the "Western Romance" line are stunning and one of a kind. As she looks ahead, Carly envisions creating a full accessory line for her clients, complete with wallets, clutches, and belts. "ere are always things I'm looking ahead for," she shares, "but I don't want to be restricted to one thing." Noting that "not everyone is a hat person," Carly describes her future boutique as also offering leather goods, luggage, and even jewelry. Of course, hat lovers will always have a home in her shop, where Carly also sells graphic tank tops, trucker hats, sweatpants, and more–all designed and pressed in-house, of course. While those local to the Garden State have the opportunity to shop Carly's one-of-a-kind creations in person, anyone interested should contact Carly as visits to The Millinery are by appointment only. Fortunately for those out of state, Carly is also happy to ship her creations worldwide. To get the design process started on your next custom hat by Carly, please visit www.themillineryhatco.com.
