ON PRESSURE, CONFIDENCE, AND WHAT NEW YORK ACTUALLY DEMANDS FROM YOU BREECE HALL & KAYVON THIBODEAUX VUE: Let's start with the obvious. We've got a Jets player and a Giants player sitting next to each other, on the same cover. What was your reaction when you heard this shoot was happening? Kayvon: I was excited, man. I know this is my first time being on the cover-well, damn, I lied. is is my second time being on the cover. But it's big news, man, especially being in New Jersey. I mean, come on. Breece: It's cool, especially already knowing Kayvon, being in the same agency and already being cool with each other. It's definitely cool knowing I'm coming to do something with somebody I know. VUE: You both play in one of the most intense sports markets in the country. What does playing in New York bring out in you that you might not get anywhere else? Kayvon: New York is a place where the only value is wins and losses. ere's nothing in between, so you've got to be a winner when you come to New York. It's definitely brought out that dog in us. Breece: I think that hunger to want to be successful is something New York requires and something they demand. ey want their teams to be good, be successful, and they want to be proud of their teams as well. I feel like it makes you want to be out there doing what you need to do at the end of the day. VUE: You guys are on opposite sides of the ball. Breece, you're trying to get through guys like Kayvon, and Kayvon, your job is basically to make sure guys like Breece don't get through. What do you respect about one another's game? Breece: I think we both play underappreciated positions. He gets paid to chase the quarterback, and I get paid to run, catch, block, and do a few other things as well. Some of what we both do isn't always said, but when you turn on the tape, people appreciate it. Kayvon: Being a guy like Breece, every play you've got 11 guys coming for him, coming for his head. It's something people don't really notice day in and day out, play in and play out. Having the mindset to get away from 11 guys every time you hear that ball snapped, that's something you can respect for sure. VUE: We know the players we see on Sundays, but who are Breece Hall and Kayvon ibodeaux when the helmets come off ? What's something fans should know about you? Kayvon: For me, I try to be crazy on the field, but I guess I'm also crazy in real life. I like to have fun. I like to work. I like to get things done. I feel like coming to New York was kind of me coming home. is is a place where I felt like I fit in. It's the city that doesn't sleep. I like working, I like having fun, and I don't like sleeping; I'll tell you that. Breece: I'm just so used to being the cool, calm, collected, behind-the-scenes guy. Being in New York and being one of the faces of a team has definitely made me want to interact with people more, meet people, and gain relationships with not only fans, but with other athletes and other notable people in New York.
