His own journey back towards connection
follows seven years of working in venture
capital, a sector that inspired Sammy's
entrepreneurial ideas. "I wanted to be on the
other side of the table–building something
of my own that I was passionate about," he
explains. He "switched gears entirely and
became obsessed with floral design," Sammy
details, using a then-recent move to LA to
springboard into his new career. While eager
to jump into the world of floral design,
Sammy knew he would require professional
experience in the industry, leading him to
cold call renowned floral designer, Jeff
Leatham. Aer an interview with Jeff and his
team and several test arrangements later,
Sammy was hired. "I loved it," shares Sammy.
"From sweeping floors to building large
installations for celebrities. Creating for
people, especially when it would evoke an
emotional reaction for people, became my
love language." It was working in floral
design that "sparked the idea to create
something of my own–a floral coffee concept.
But that later evolved into what Meadow
Lane became to be," he says.
