Ever been near a candle with a pleasant
smell that later becomes the source of a
pounding headache? Melissa Buesing-
Glick, founder of The Lucky Honey Bee,
experienced that very thing with most of
the major candle brands on the market.
She began making her own soy candles at
home, researching the best waxes, oils, and
glassware, until discovering the magic, no-
headache combination.

The candles are made with domestically
grown wax from soybeans and beeswax
sourced locally from New York State. The
candle tins are also recyclable. Glick strives to
uses fragrances without phthalates – chemi-
cals with wide-spread use in the fragrance
industry – and plans to eliminate them alto-
gether this year.
