2014 CAMPING EDITORIAL AT CAMP TAYLOR Camping in April doesn't sound so bad right? Unless its the coldest April in years. Throw in temperatures in the low 30's, a red fl ag warning to prohibit camp fi res, and the sounds of Wolves howling in the night and you have the ultimate team bonding experience! Oh, and did I mention it was bear season? This is certainly a memory not to be forgotten. GIANTS COVER INTERVIEW. After driving 3 hours to the N.Y. Giants practice facility in Albany, NY, we were met by the entire team after routine practice. As a fan, this was a truly unforgettable moment. 2011 HOLIDAY STAFF BIOS PHOTO SHOOT I believe that we took the "Ugly Christmas Sweater" concept to the next level. This was no ordinary holiday photo, this was a true masterpiece. 2012 ICE AND COCO COVER INTERVIEW I can vividly remember walking into Ice and Coco's pent- house apartment on River Road. This place was the ultimate bachelor pad! The highlight was when Ice asked me to sit in his gaming chair with built in surround sound in the uphol- stery, and a shiatsu massage feature for quite the gaming experience. 2013 SHARK FISHING TRIP IN MONTAUK N.Y. How often do you get to come together as a team and do something so amazing that will later be featured in the sum- mer adventure issue of the Digest? Deep sea fi shing certain- ly brought a new meaning to team bonding as we watched each team member "go down" one by one. You never had sea sickness until you've been deep sea fi shing! W E A S K E D T H E J E R S E Y C I T Y D I G E S T November | December 11 If you get the opportunity to interview a couple in their home, take it. You'll fi nd out that they're only calling it home for a little while longer, until the 4,400 square foot house they're having constructed is completed. The Edgewater penthouse where they currently reside has purple carpets, red couches, a tanning bed in the wall, and electronic devices so impressive they warrant a tour. Surprisingly, one could still describe the place as understated. Ice-T, the rapper/television star/fi lm star/producer lives here with his wife Coco, the model/television star/author/fashion designer. They have a reality show. It's called Ice Loves Coco, and it airs on E! They also have a marriage. A fi nish-each-other's-sentences kind of marriage. When her shoe has an unexpected malfunction, he takes it to the kitchen counter to make the repair. He also plans on fi xing the wall fountain when he has the time. She takes longer to get ready than he does, so he entertains the guests. They like each other. You can just tell. A camera can perform thousands of functions, but it can't produce genuine affection where there isn't any. We discussed relationships and fame and what happens when the two collide. We talked about work ethic and the state of the entertainment business. We also talked about Law & Order, because it's not every day you're in a room with Fin. 20 www.thedigestonline.com July I August 21 Deep Sea Fishing After a few hours at sea, we fired up the grill and sipped cold beers on the return trip. Gather your family and friends and Ha rborside Resort Motel This cozy little place was our home for two nights, and it was perfectly clean, inviting and peaceful. Located across from the marina and just down the road from an awesome dive bar, it's the ideal stop for a fisherman or anyone who appreciates the little things in life. Amenities include a pool, a tennis court and complimentary WiFi. A quick five minute drive gets you right in the main hub for shopping and eats. What more could you ask for, dear traveler? East by Northeast Can't go wrong with the Pan Asian cuisine at this gorgeous restaurant, whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood, a great steak, or a yummy vegetarian option. Our group's favorites: Diver scallops, rigatoni mac & cheese, vegetable spring rolls with Chinese mustard, and fried tapioca pudding. Not hungry just yet? Shake out your beach hair and sip on a Montauk Sunset at the bar while watching the actual Montauk sunset over Fort Pond through the giant windows — a sight so distractingly beautiful, it took up about fifty percent of our conversation. 51 Edgemere St, Montauk, NY 11954 Eastbynortheast.com Gosma n's Resta u ra nt Gosman's is situated right at the entrance to the Montauk Harbor, and when the boats sail in at sunset, it's like watching a Winslow Homer painting in motion. The only thing happier than our eyes were our stomachs. The twin lobster tails with tarragon butter were completely worth the indulgence, as were the panna cotta with orange sauce and the banana bread pudding. The place feels and tastes like summer. 500 W Lake Dr, Montauk, NY 11954 Gosmans.com Lia r's Saloon If for whatever reason we ever need to change our country's capital, I will humbly nominate Liar's Saloon. It's imperative that you go to Liar's while you're in Montauk, because it is America: 20-somethings, 60-somethings, hipsters, cowboys, and fishermen as old as the sea, all squeezed together drinking cheap Bud Light drafts and singing their karaoke-loving hearts out. I watched a 50-ish woman with a broken arm and a Birthday Princess tiara sing "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da." I miss it there. 401 W Lake Dr, Montauk, NY 11954 Mishell II Charters 229-16 W. Montauk Hwy. What more could you We set out on the charter boat Mishell II at 6 a.m. and watched the sun make its final creep into the clouds. And so began an 8-hour deep sea fishing expedition with Captain Mike and his mate Steve in a vessel that comes fully-equipped with all the gear needed for the trip. After they set up the fishing lines (an art in itself), we waited for the "Fish on!" call and took turns reeling in, which is an adrenaline rush and a full-body workout: bent knees, strong arms, firm stance, and reel, reel, reel.
