Recently, VUE publisher Jason Underberg, had the opportunity to experience the Braverman Family Executive Wellness Program firsthand. Underberg immediately recognized the luxurious, concierge feeling of the program even before walking through the doors. Prior to the actual experience, it's required that a nurse visits one's home or office for blood work, a customized meal for lunch is chosen, followed by a physician over-the-phone consultation to discuss expectations about the program. Upon arrival, participants are presented with Braverman Family Executive Wellness Program custom sweatpants, jacket and a personal concierge to induce the affluent aspect of the program. During Underberg's personal experience, he first met with his primary care physician for a physical examination. Following this, he met with a dermatologist for a full body scan to assess for cancer and dermal-related issues. He then saw a cardiologist and had a stress test and EKG performed to assess his cardiovascular function and rule out related issues. A chest CT was then performed as a part of his customized plan and history of smoking. Finally, he underwent a bone density test and met with his Braverman physician to review all his blood work and test results. "Throughout the process," Underberg explained, "there is ample time for questions and no feelings of being rushed. I spent an average of 15 minutes with each doctor and each expressed enthusiasm in answering any of my questions." Underberg also met with a nutritionist who assessed his nutritional intake based on his daily meals, discussed sugar intake and fat intake regarding good and bad fats, and provided dietary adjustment recommendations based on this information. While his diet is fairly consistent with an ideal diet, the nutritionist did suggest incorporating more fruits into his breakfast regime. Next, Underberg met with an exercise physiologist who told him to keep up his exercise routine of biking, running, yoga, golfing and snowboarding. To end the day, Underberg indulged in his custom lunch with Englewood Hospital's CEO Warren Geller, an experience unique to the program, and then visited the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine for his one-hour full-body massage. "My favorite part of this experience is knowing— beyond the level of concierge and luxury throughout the day—that I can walk in and walk out with results about my entire body and discuss any symptoms I've ever felt over the last few years with a physician. Knowing those facts, as a patient, is something that is truly invaluable."
