The Aventador itself has only been available since 2011 and since then, Lamborghini has revised its flagship ride with everything from new tech and aerodynamics to upgrading its power and suspension. In an official statement, Lamborghini chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali explained, "This is the next generation Aventador as well as the expression of new technological and performance milestones in super sportscar development." And in classic Lamborghini fashion, the brand promises to elevate the very ideals of a super sportscar to new heights (and speeds). Driving the Aventador S can be intimidating at first, especially if you're new to the brand or super sportscars in general. But in the case of the Aventador S, once you get a feel for its drive, it's remarkably comfortable–which is also thanks in part to its various custom driving modes (more on that later). For a bigger car, it sports some surprising drivability which is attributed to the brand's Lamborghini Active Vehicle Dynamics. Tight steering is one of our favorite features on the Aventador S, and most of the vehicle's innovative dynamics are controlled by its steering which utilizes all four wheels. In addition, the new Aventador's magneto-rheological front and rear shock absorbers modify the suspension's behavior to adhere to current road conditions (as well as your current selected driving mode). Typically speaking, Lamborghinis feature three driving modes. Strada for street driving; Sport for some fun; Corsa for the track. But the 2017 Aventador S showed us a new driving mode. Ego. The name says it all but what's most fascinating about this mode is that it allows the driver to customize the vehicle's settings (and there's a lot to pick from). It's up to the driver to find their ideal harmony of engine regulation, suspension stiffness and rear wing location, all with the flick of a button. 507 lb of torque, 740 horsepower and sophisticated design makes it a top 10 super sportscar. But what it comes down to behind the wheel of the Aventador S Coupé is the experience. And not just the years of fine Lamborghini craftsmanship, but the way it feels to drive. Wild, powerful–and completely unburdened by reality. *The pictured Aventador S Coupé is available for sale at Lamborghini Paramus located at 401 Rt. 17. V U E N J . C O M 125
