CREATING DEPTH IN STYLE VANESSA DELEON OF VDA DESIGNS TACKLES A FASHIONABLE ENGLEWOOD BOUTIQUE BY JACKIE MAGURNO Owner Paula Parlato and designer Vanessa Deleon at Engle Shop W hen it comes to interior design, few have an eye for flair and style like Vanessa Deleon, owner and founder of VDA Designs in NYC. No stranger to expanding her talents outside residential design, perhaps one of Deleon's most fashionable endeavors is her work with Engle—a specialty boutique that has been dressing women in the finest selection of hot contemporary brands and sophisticated European designs for over 50 years. Engle was designed with the aesthetic and concept of a high-style boutique mixed with an industrial, chic feel. Creating this mix of two different ideologies was no simple feat, but Deleon was able to make these distinctive trends look fluid and intentional in the boutique's finished product. Engle features interesting lighting in the form of strategically placed chandeliers which give the store an eclectic tone, highlighting all of the right places. "I wanted to mix a little bit of old world with industrial flair; I wanted to create the best balance by having a cluster of chandeliers as a grouping in the middle of the boutique.
