ituated in the quiet suburban town of
New Canaan, Connecticut, Grace Farms
is a humble gem amongst rows of stately
mansions and manicured estates. Once a
private residence, Grace Farms opened
to the public in 2015 and is now home to
patrons of nature, art, social justice, and
faith. Housed on nearly 80 acres of rolling
topography and lush landscape, the
farm is an extension of the neighboring
community.
The facility, which cost an estimated
$120 million, was founded by the
Grace Farms Foundation which was
established in 2009 and now operates
as a private, nonprofit organization.
Through public programs hosted within
their facilities, the foundation carries
out their mission to encourage local,
national, and international participation
and collaboration. During the farm's
inception, the foundation partnered with
Tokyo-based architectural firm SANAA
to take on the challenge of designing a
facility that would help them achieve
their mission.
