he first thing we asked ourselves was, can we build a platform that allows for a 100 percent digital design process to happen and how can we help clients transform their spaces if we are never actually in them?" Fine explained. She and her team came to the conclusion that yes, it can be done and all it takes is three easy steps. Whether you've set out to redecorate the whole house or just one room, there is a bit of legwork to be done on the client's behalf to get you started. Laurel & Wolf begins by having clients complete a style quiz and picking a design package that best suits their needs. Their options range from Light, Classic and Signature that vary according to budget, design time and space planning. Before designers can create a concept board for you, clients are required to upload photos and dimensions of their room(s). This, along with the style quiz, will match you with like-minded designers that have a vision for your space. After you've chosen which designer you'd like to work with, you then have an allotted amount of time (5 or 10 days) to talk, collaborate and make changes. By the end, you'll receive a personalized floor plan with your design layout and a shopping list of items that can be purchased through their website. Currently, Laurel & Wolf has partnerships with over 500 vendors and a network of nearly 1,000 designers across the U.S. What Fine set out to do by developing Laurel & Wolf was to democratize the world of interior design—not only for the clients, but for the designers. "I want our designers to be able to focus on what they love to do and what makes design fun for them—picking out products and showing clients the true potential of their space." For Laurel & Wolf users, Fine hopes what attracts them to the site is the ease and accessibility factor. "The design platform we've created is incredibly robust. You can comment and react to each individual item, adjust colors, shapes and after a long work day, log in and sit with your partner and make all those important decisions together."
