Over the last few years of my life, I've been given the opportunity to travel to some amazing places around the world. Although most of what I've seen along the way was nothing short of magnificent, the road isn't always paved with solid gold. Behind every beautiful country, island and remote destination, there's a glimpse of poverty, hunger and someone looking for a chance at life. Each year, VUE Magazine spends time seeking out the wonderful charities and foundations here in New Jersey so that we can educate our readers on who's making the biggest impact in the world today. In this year's Holiday and Charity issue, we've been fortunate enough to have spent time with local foundations right here in our backyard that are changing the world. If that wasn't enough, working with the Mariano Rivera Foundation and having the chance to sit down with Mariano Rivera himself, was truly incredible. Aside from being the greatest closing pitcher of all time, Rivera is giving back every day and changing the lives of thousands of children through his foundation.
