by Abby Montanez O ur obsession with interior design has gotten a bit out of hand lately. Pinterest boards are brimming, Wayfair carts are overflowing and yet, how often do we actually take that leap to transform our homes? While there is more than enough décor inspo to go around, we are inevitably left with two options in the end if we choose to move forward: hire a designer or do it ourselves — with the majority of us choosing the latter. While design trends are constantly evolving, the services at our disposal are outdated and oftentimes limited to what we can achieve in terms of budget and time. E-commerce design sites like Laurel & Wolf noticed this need to bring design into the digital era and married the convenience of technology with high-end, quality interiors that are custom to you. Founder and CEO of Laurel & Wolf, Leura Fine, began her career as an interior designer but knew that something within the system just wasn't working. Styles and themes were moving towards the future but when it came to accessibility, Fine noticed that a lot of people felt stuck. Designers were struggling to market themselves and those clients in need of a revamp were given too many choices with not enough resources to complete a project. What Fine came up with was a website and software that works to connect designers from across the country with potential clients looking to redo their spaces. VUE ON DESIGN V U E N J . C O M 34
