is is because the property is an almost monumental project: at nearly 17,000 sq, it is an enormous, sprawling structure that was built in some interesting ways. For example, rather than being constructed out of wood frames and plywood, 27 Ward Ave was built using the highest quality, specifically poured-in-place concrete, which makes up the walls' structure on every level. "It made the house ultra-energy-efficient, and it allowed us to remove columns in certain places, making room sizes larger." said the former owner on a phone interview with VUE Magazine. "It also allowed for higher ceiling heights." Its exterior architectural style is also rather distinctive: with its warm beige limestone-cladding, round arches, and classically-inspired columns, the outside of the house is reminiscent of Spanish villas—a far cry from the coastal colonial style common along the Jersey Shore.
