Brian Kovener Co-Founder Brian@vuenj.com I n the Spring of 2017, we published our first annual "Home & Design" issue. Cindy Crawford graced our cover and we had the opportunity to sit down with the fashion icon as she rolled out her new home line. is was also the last time we published a theme issue, as we didn't want to inhibit our editorial team on what to address. Home and design have certainly been a staple in every issue of VUE, but as more of an appetizer than the main dish. Fast forward three years to the Spring of 2020 when we all had the opportunity to spend more time in our home than anyone thought was humanly possible. During this time I moved to a new house in Monmouth Beach. Work was needed, both inside and outside, and I was more than ready for the task. Or so I thought. Once I realized I had spent over a week researching and debating on an area rug, I realized I needed professional help. For this issue of VUE, we spent time with some of the top designers and most influential brokers and developers here in New Jersey and abroad. ere is no shortage of fantastic work to feature, which is why this issue of VUE is our biggest one yet! We had the chance to shoot one of our most creative covers to date, featuring the award-winning interior designer Vanessa Deleon. Vanessa has been a contributor to VUE for many years, providing great insight on the top ways to add character to your home both inside and out. However, this is the first time she takes us inside her home that she carefully drew out and designed herself. Here in our Fall issue, we take you behind the scenes to our recent visit to e Farm at Glenwood Mountain— one of New Jersey's best-kept secrets! In addition, we share our first hotel experiences since the onset of COVID, taking us upstate New York to e Sagamore and a journey to downtown Boston at e Whitney Hotel. Home has become a lot more than just where our hearts are. Now "home" has become all the places we used to go. Our homes serve as our school, gym, restaurant, theater, cocktail bar and beauty salon. With so many activities happening under one roof every day, design and functionality are more important now than ever. Each project in the pages that follow seemed to inspire us more and more, as we peeled back the layers on each story to uncover it's unique backstory. is was certainly the most labor- intensive issue we've done in quite some time, but well worth it. I can assure you that it won't be another three years before we publish our next Home & Design issue. We truly hope you enjoy reading this as much as we enjoyed putting it together!
