Pe s ky D et a i l s You've mapped out the ideal day from ceremony, to drinks and food to dinner and dancing. Florists, caterers, and bands have been hired. Now is not the time to forget the essentials! Light and sound require electric service so either hire an electrician to install a special panel or rent a generator. Having the lights go out may provide for long- lasting stories, but likely not the kind you want. Similarly, find a solution to heating or cooling. Weather is not reliable and when a cold front moves through or the dog days of August arrive, heating and cooling options are critical. Check with your tent provider who will either provide what you need or know who can. The last detail that no one wants to discuss is restrooms, but relying on that one bathroom off the laundry room in your house, will not suffice. Event planners estimate one stall for every thirty-five people will be enough to minimize lines. Portable restrooms have come a long way and spending extra to provide a luxury restroom that mimics something found at an upscale hotel is money well spent. The space can even be customized with sspecialtypeciality soaps, monogrammed towels, and flower arrangements. With basic planning, backyard weddings can be as simple or as grand as your imagination allows. V U E N J .C O M 54
