The two are set on bringing their joined perspectives and talents
to cast light on the common gloom of our visual world, elevating the
ordinary, and drawing out the dormant potential. It's a mission to
breathe life into brands old and new, large or small. "We want to
work with individuals but also with those at the corporate level,"
Landau says, "We're going after people who settle for the cookie-
cutter thing. We want to change how people see them."
The work of art that brought the two together is entitled, "The
Sun Queen," which now hangs boldly as an accent piece in Landau's
home. What began as a photograph taken by Laxton in South Africa,
has since been adapted and stylized by Laxton and Landau together
to achieve the final design. Mounted on museum-grade plexiglass, it
is a commanding 40"x60" format print of a woman standing
powerfully in a brilliant wash of sunlight. It's an apt representation
of the vision the two share and a befitting point of commencement
for the journey they've started together.
