Dining on the Amalfi Coast is a dream for every food aficionado. From fresh, chef-prepared meals in the comfort of your accommodations to famous and family-owned restaurants, the meals are unforgettably delicious and diverse. With opportunities to hunt for truffles in countryside fields, cook alongside local chefs, and hand-pick lemons to create your own limoncello, unique culture and flavors permeate every experience. Fresh gardens and lemon trees line the glorious, narrow streets of the Amalfi Coast towns, welcoming you with aromatic delight and preparing your taste buds for the delectable meals ahead. First thing is first, the gelato. Be prepared to have at least a scoop a day while visiting; the goal is to try every flavor by the time you leave. Being on the coast, fresh seafood is the centerpiece of most dishes native to the area. Fresh pastas, breads, cheeses, meats and desserts are a staple at any Amalfi Coast eatery, but the fresh seafood dishes, combined with accents of lemon that are abundant in the area, are scrumptiously unique. Dishes are paired perfectly with locally sourced wines and aperitifs, typically complimentary upon arrival in most restaurants. While the cuisine in Italy is one of the most world-renowned and the culture has fresh meals and wine embedded in it, there is so much to explore outside of the provisions when visiting Amalfi. Luxurious and one-of- a-kind shopping, discovering the history of the land, and exploring the aquatic liveliness of the area are only glimpses into what these extraordinary towns have to offer.
