artistic hints of music in the design. Due to the differentiating ceiling heights, the most challenging feature of the room was hanging the contemporary light fixture to be perfectly centered over the dining table; once that was in place, the rest of the room came together seamlessly. A snakeskin area carpet breaks up the original tile flooring, and gray toned wallpaper enhances the ceiling height and creates a vertical sound wave pattern. According to Insabella, "the vinyl wall covering has a lot of depth that can hide defects, give it dimension, and is easy to clean." e shagreen sideboard is used for serving larger gatherings and the blackout shades provide privacy that allow for intimate dining. Insabella used all indoor/ outdoor velvet fabrics on the dining room chairs for ease of cleaning, and chose darker fabrics that would easily hide wear and tear while still lending itself to the luxe interiors. e entrance to the entertainment wing is introduced with a dramatic black crushed velvet curtain tied back with a large gold tassel, which contrasts the white spaces of the house and sets a new mood. Dark glittering carpet welcomes guests as they head down the hallway that leads to the Home eater, Guest Bedroom and Bathroom, and Billiards Room, mimicking the energy one might feel as they step foot upon a red carpet. e glittering hallway is illuminated by the custom-made artwork that provides bright pops of color along the way. ese commissioned art pieces are retro posters of musicians from the 1960's that have been repainted with black light paint, creating one- of-a-kind, glow-in-the-dark images. e recessed black lights spotlight the artwork in addition to dimmable LED lighting, as the crushed red velvet drapes of the Billiards Room entrance becomes the backdrop.
