Goldberg Plumbing Supply was
founded in 1910 by Charles Goldberg.
Originally, Goldberg Plumbing Supply
was a hardware store that sold heating
supplies before it changed names to
General Plumbing Supply.
1910
1980's
During the 1950's, Goldberg's son took
over operations and focused on offering
traditional heating and plumbing supplies,
expanding the business in a new direction.
General Plumbing Supply moved from its
original location to Ave C in Bayonne.
Current CEO Bruce Tucker became involved in the
business in the 1970's and moved General Plumbing
Supply to Kennedy Blvd. where the first inside sales
and showroom model for GPS came into existence.
"Groundbreaking at the time," this facility housed a real
distribution center, inside sales, and material handling.
This move modernized the family company and readied
them for the next century.
General Plumbing Supply's second location
in Morris Plains opened in the early 1980's.
This second location also included inside
sales, counter assistance, and showroom.
