A jetted hot tub greets guests as they enter the
spa, and an overhead, starry night sky tray
ceiling sets the mood for the enchanting,
holistic experience ahead. Hidden within the
starry night sky is a speaker system and
Lutron lighting system which provides custom
remote-controlled, scene lighting with preset
settings, creating an unplugged, seamlessly
lit environment.
Adjacent to the hot tub is a foot bath with salts,
milks, and honeys to soak in while enjoying the
Japanese Zen Garden. e steam room and sauna
are the perfect place to reset aer a long day
with rejuvenative benefits and accompanying
aromatherapy and chromotherapy. Unique, tile-
lined loungers, sourced from Italy, grace the
arched reading nook with rope light that glows
around the loungers, creating a tucked in, cozy
feel and providing the perfect level of light to
enjoy a great read.
Aer basking in the relaxation of the spa, a full
bathroom felt necessary to include as a place to
rinse off. Not wanting to take away from the
space at the heart of the basement, Sauer took
inspiration from houseboats and had the idea of
creating a shower that can fold out when
someone wants to shower, and fold back in
when someone is using the bathroom or
changing. is was made possible by creating a
single level bathroom with natural slate tile and
other components which flow towards a drain,
extending the function of the bathroom space.
