Serving a traditionally roasted turkey with a savory stuffing? We suggest the most classic red wine pairing, Pinot Noir. From cranberry sauce to roasted mushrooms and sweet potatoes, Pinot Noir can marry them all. e cherry and spice notes of the grape will not overpower the relatively modest flavors of the turkey, and if you want a more fruit forward interpretation of Pinot Noir, look at California. Want an earthy, savory expression? en Burgundy is the region for you. Want something in the middle? Oregon's Willamette Valley strikes a nice balance. is season, we recommend the 2016 Soter "Mineral Springs Ranch" Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Well worth the price, it is oen referred to as the grand cru of Oregon. If you prefer a heartier, richer style wine for your anksgiving, look no further than Zinfandel. is grape has loads of dark fruit and can range from big and powerful to more restrained red fruit and spice. One of our favorites? e 2016 Limerick Lane Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley. Simply put, it is a "gorgeous wine." -JEB DUNNUCK Of course, there is always Beaujolais. Beaujolais is a region within Burgundy where Gamay is grown. Gamay has many elements of Pinot Noir, but it is a bit more fruit forward and quite versatile. Unlike Beaujolais Nouveau, which tends to have light cherry notes and are consumed in their youth, Cru Beaujolais are serious red wines with terrific structure and depth. One of our favorite crus? e 2017 Jean-Claude evenet "Morgon" Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes (old vines). Few make a better cru Morgon than evenet. While many people reach for red wine at anksgiving, white wine can be an excellent choice, especially ones with balanced, juicy acidity and a touch of sweetness – even a bit of oak aging. Want a hint of sweetness, but not too much? Try Harper Voit's "Maresh Vineyard" Riesling from Oregon. is off-dry domestic Riesling has accents of apricot, honey and tea; it will stand up to any of your holiday sides without too much sweetness. Want a dash of oak and butter to stand up to gravy and roasted vegetables? Try the 2016 Ojai Vineyard "Bien Nacido" California Chardonnay. It is "beautifully layered and expressive." -ANTONIO GALLONI
